Life throws obstacles at you it seems every chance that it gets. They may alter our path, the may force us in different directions, but they never deter us from our goals: to seek happiness in whatever it is that we strive to be.
When things don’t go as planned, there is always a back up plan that you never knew existed. These things that you never would have experienced, make you realize that it was all for reason. When you find yourself in such a happy place, when you are satisfied with your journey so far, and when you’ve accepted that the journey is far from over… That’s when true happiness falls in to place.
Do you ever think about the “What if’s”? I feel like it’s human nature to think that about what should have, could have, would have been’s. We all tend think about how one bump in the road altered our journey, but what if that road stayed flat? Would the bump just come about at a later date, in a different form? Most likely. But we don’t know that. We just sit and wonder, what would have been if this had happened slightly differently?
Sometimes I think about the “What If’s”. Generally when I’m overly emotional, or a little intoxicated, or feeling a little lonely. (Which very often occur in unison). But I’ve come to realize… The “what ifs” don’t make life great. The “could have beens” don’t create happiness. The “would have beens” don’t change the past. And the “should have beens” don’t exist.
I’ve come to the realization that the only way to truly succeed in controlling your own happiness: you have to live for what you’re passionate about, you have to experience new things, you have to celebrate life as it comes at you, and mostly, you have to put number one above all; because without that sense of self-worth, how do you learn to accept life for what it is?
Life: A crazy, tragic, beautiful, wild ride. ✌️ Buckle up, people, cause it isn’t slowing down for anything.
